Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.

Psalm 145:4
What is revival? You will probably get fifty slightly different answers from fifty different people. Many great men and women of God have spoken on the subject. In essence we believe it is this, as taken from In The Day of Thy Power by Arthur Wallis:
"Revival is divine intervention in the normal course of spiritual things. It is God revealing Himself to man in awful holiness and irresistible power. It is such a manifest working of God that human personalities are overshadowed, and human programmes abandoned. It is man retiring into the background because God has taken the field. It is the Lord making bare His holy arm, and working in extraordinary power on saint and sinner."

About

Explore Revival

Explore Revival is an initiative designed to clearly and simply share the extraordinary moves of God that have been witnessed throughout history. From the first outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost in Jerusalem, to the 16th Century Reformation, to more recent revivals, here you can be inspired by the ways God has transformed people, churches, communities, and nations, through His great power.

This website is an attempt to present such moments in history. Undoubtedly, there will be many worthy contributions missing at this point, and we would welcome any and all suggestions from those of you with a deep knowledge of this subject.
It is also worth noting that the men and women highlighted here were just that: ordinary men and women, captivated by an extraordinary God. We ought to honour them whilst realising that we have access to the same God. All of them were flawed, some made very public mistakes, but each one was used to great effect through the mercy of God.

Let these accounts provoke your spirit. Allow the stories of past generations to stir your hunger for more of God. It is said of many before and will surely be said again of this generation, "Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you...The Lord has done great things for them" (Deut. 32:7 & Ps. 126:3).
